This one day workshop is an ideal opportunity for you to explore Olvar Wood Writers Retreat, and develop your short story skills. Join nike bourke - award-winning author and literary judge - in a workshop designed to inspire you, and give you a range of tools to turn your ideas into engaging stories. Through a hands-on, interactive workshop, you will be guided through the basics of short fiction, including character, setting, plot/structure and setting.

What's Included?
The short story workshop includes all tuition materials (including writing exercises, publication and competition leads, and other resource material), as well as in-class feedback and loads of tips and tricks to help you develop your writing skills. The short story workshops is ideal for beginners as well as writers who wish to refresh their understanding of the short story form.
There are currently no more places available in our 2010 program of 'Our Place' workshops, but we will be launching our 2011 program later this year. To receive ebulletin updates about upcoming events, you can subscribe to our ebulletin.
Olvar Wood also provide 'Your Place' workshops. If you have a group of writers, and a suitable venue, we can come to you and deliver either one of our signature workshops, or a workshop designed specifically to meet your needs.
Rates
- Our Place Workshops: $90.00 per person
- Your Place Workshops (up to 20 participants): $800.00 plus travel expenses
QWC, ACTWC and NRWC members receive a 10% discount.
